The Alpine Project Featured in National Geographic: Skiing in Ushguli

Skiing in Ushguli

We’re proud to share that The Alpine Project was featured in National Geographic‘s story “This medieval village is one of the buzziest places to ski,” part of their Best of the World series.

Our founder and IFMGA Mountain Guide Bekar Phajishvili spoke with National Geographic about what makes skiing here so special: connecting with local Svan traditions turns a ski trip into something much more than a ride down the mountain. The Alpine Project is also named among the recommended ski touring outfitters in Svaneti.
